Wade Hansen, Managing Director

Wade is the Founder and Managing Director at Cabrillo Advisors and has extensive experience executing M&A, financings and business valuations for public and private clients. Prior to founding Cabrillo Advisors, and its predecessor firm MHT Partners in Dallas,Texas, Wade was a founding principal at Dell Ventures in Austin, Texas, where he invested in hightech (software, semiconductor) business services, and Internet based companies. Wade began his postgraduate career at McKinsey & Co, where he served hightech and pharma companies on matters of M&A and post merger management. He started his career as a licensed CPA in Ernst and Young’s Audit Department.

Wade has an MBA with distinction from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Business and graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting summa cum laude. Wade holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 licenses.

J. Nixon Fox III, General Counsel

Nick Fox is General Counsel of Shareholder Representation at Cabrillo Advisors. Nick focuses his practice in M&A and private equity transactions primarily in the energy, technology, life science and entertainment industries.

Nick regularly advises private equity firms, venture capital firms, and other investors in fund formation matters and acquisitions, financings, and divestitures of portfolio companies.  In addition to his role as investor counsel, Nick acts as outside general counsel to a number of growth companies, from start-ups to publicly-held companies. As company counsel, Nick advises these clients on a broad array of transactional matters, including debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances (both domestic and international), as well as corporate governance, executive compensation, and general corporate matters.

Nick has more than 20 years of private practice experience in Austin, Washington, DC, and Hong Kong, in addition to three years as General Counsel of two privately-held companies in Austin, Texas. He has been recognized in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business from 2005 through 2010, as a member of the 2010 Lawdragon 3000, The Best Lawyers in America® in corporate law from 2008 to 2011, and Texas' Best Lawyers in corporate law for 2011.
